Login with multi factor authentication and social sign in

Keep your team's accounts secure without slowing anyone down.

Written by Admin

Onetrace supports multi-factor authentication (MFA) and social sign-on, so you can control how your team logs in and who can access your company's data. Each user sets up MFA from My account, and admins and owners can check who has it switched on.

  • Protect your data: keep job, customer and compliance data safe from unauthorised access.

  • Fewer password resets: cut down on forgotten passwords and reset requests.

  • Meet client requirements: tick off the security checks main contractors and clients increasingly ask for.

Option

What it does

Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

Checks who you are with two or more independent factors, like your password plus a code from your phone

Social sign-on

Lets you log in with an account you already use, like Google or Microsoft.

Set up MFA

MFA adds a second check when you log in—a code from an authenticator app on your phone. If your password is ever stolen, nobody can get in without that second step. Before you start, install an authenticator app on your phone, or use the native device app such as Passwords from Apple.

⚠️ Onetrace can't enforce MFA for your whole team, so each user needs to set it up themselves. Admins and owners can see who has MFA switched on in the Admin area.

How to set up MFA

  1. Select your initials in the bottom left of the screen.

  2. Select My account.

  3. In the Security section, select Add 2FA.

  4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, then select Continue.

  5. Enter the code shown in your authenticator app to finish setting up MFA.

Check who has MFA switched on

For admins and owners

  1. Go to the Admin area.

  2. Check which users have MFA switched on, you can sort the column by those who have it enabled or not.

  3. Ask anyone without MFA to set it up using the steps above.
