Material groups

How to add and manage your material groups, so operatives can easily find the right material when on site.

Onetrace allows you to categorise materials into groups, helping you stay organised and work more efficiently. Grouping materials enables you to:

  • Quickly filter and locate specific material types.

  • Manage materials more effectively across multiple projects.

  • Generate detailed reports based on material categories for better insight and cost tracking.

  • Helps operatives to quickly find and choose materials in the mobile app when on site.


Add and manage material groups

How to add a material group via Settings:

  1. Choose the Settings on the bottom left-hand side of your screen

  2. Click on Materials

  3. Add your material group name to the Add Material Group search bar

  4. Click the Add button

How to add a material via the material library:

  1. Choose the Library on the bottom left-hand side of your screen

  2. Click on Materials

  3. Click the three dots on the top right side of your screen

  4. Click the Material Groups button

Change a material group name

  1. Navigate to settings in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen

  2. Select Materials from the left-hand sidebar

  3. Click on the name of the material group you would like to edit

  4. A modal will appear to change the name

  5. Click Save Changes

Delete a material group

  1. Navigate to settings in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen

  2. Select Materials from the left-hand sidebar

  3. Hover over the material group name you would like to delete, and a bin will appear

  4. Click the bin, read through the disclaimer and click confirm to delete the material group

โš ๏ธ If the material group you would like to delete has materials within it that you would like to keep, you must first move them to a new group before deleting. Otherwise, those materials will be deleted along with the group.
