Within a Rate Set, there are individual rates (prices) for each material. You cannot have multiple rates (prices) for the same material (e.g. a fire door) within the same Rate Set, as this would mean that you have multiple prices for the same material.

Add custom rates to project materials

Custom Rates within Onetrace allow you to specify a one-off Rate that isnโ€™t part of a Rate Set and is only used within that project - it will not affect your organisationโ€™s default rates or that projectโ€™s default rates.

How to add custom rates:

  1. Select the project you would like to add a custom rate to

  2. In the top right-hand corner, select your Project Setup

  3. From the drop-down down click Materials & Rates

  4. Click on Material Manager

  5. Navigate to the material you would like to add the custom rate to

  6. Select the Rate Group you would like to add the custom rate to, e.g. adding a custom rate to a material because it is a specialist material or needs a different rate applied due to a change in project needs

  7. From the drop-down down select + Add Custom Rate

  8. There are two options when adding a custom rate:

    1. Copy Rates - this will bring the current rate settings so that you have the overview of the existing rates and can make small edits, without affecting your default rates

    2. Start Fresh - if you need to add in a completely fresh set of rates, Start Fresh will present a blank screen for you to input these new rates.

  9. Select the blue Add Custom Rates button for these custom rates to be applied to the material within your project
