Location attributes are custom fields that capture the details of a location, like a floor, room type or fire rating. They work alongside the location reference—the system field for your client's own identifier—to help operatives find where to work and to give you more useful reports. You can add and update them in bulk with a CSV import or on the web.
Find the right location: operatives can see and search location details on site.
Report by location: break down your report summary by attribute.
💡 Every project has a location reference. It's on by default and always visible, so there's nothing to switch on.
Set up attributes in a project template
If you add attributes to a project template, they're included automatically in every new project created from it.
Add the details you need, using the attribute type that suits each one.
Choose whether attribute details show on the project's public QR code page. You'll still need to switch on the public QR code page once you've created the project from the template.
Choose which attributes appear on each form, and whether each one is required.
Save the template. New projects created from it include these attributes.

How to add a location attribute
Go to Project setup (top right of the screen).
Select Locations from the dropdown.
Select Add attribute.
Choose an attribute type from the list.
Add the name and any options, then select Add attribute to save.
How you use attributes depends on the project type:
Single-site projects with drawings: attributes add extra detail to each pin.
Single-site projects without drawings, and multi-site projects: attributes, along with the location reference, are the main way to pinpoint where a job is. Preloaded options cut down on typing errors.
💡 Editing a form within a project updates existing job sheets in that project. Ensure you review changes carefully before publishing.
Bulk import locations via CSV
We recommend a CSV import for:
Single-site projects without drawings
Multi-site projects
You can fill in the location reference and every attribute for all your locations in one go. See Bulk import locations via CSV.
How location details appear on mobile
The location reference and attributes appear at the top of the job sheet.
Existing locations: the fields fill in automatically.
New locations: operatives fill in the fields on site.
Operatives can search by the location reference when they're finding a location. Text attributes are only searchable on mobile if Large text input is turned off for that attribute.
Bulk editing location attributes on web
Once you've set up locations and attributes, bulk edit them on the web from the Locations tab of a project. This lets you update attribute values across multiple locations at once, rather than editing each one individually.
Location attributes in reporting
Location attributes can also feed into your report summary page, where certain attribute types are aggregated to show a breakdown of number and percentage per attribute.
To include location attributes in a report summary:
Enable the toggle to include location attributes.
(Optional) Choose whether to include locations with no attributes attached.
Select which attributes to include by clicking Select attributes.
💡 Can't see the Select attributes button? Your attributes are probably text or number type.
