Sync your data in the Onetrace mobile app

How to sync your data from mobile to the back office and best practices.

Keeping your mobile app synced ensures that everyone is working from the same page.

  • Update your device and stay informed: Regular syncing pulls the latest project and job information directly to your app so you receive new instructions from the back office without delay.

  • Submit work and ensure accuracy: Completed tasks are sent back to the office for QA checks and approval, ensuring your progress on site is recorded accurately.


💡 Syncing will only happen when the app is open and connected to a strong data signal. Time to sync will depend on signal strength and the amount of data being sent.

Update and sync in the mobile app

How to update and sync data in the mobile app:

  1. Ensure you have a strong data connection ideally to WiFi, though mobile data also works.

  2. Tap the cloud icon in the top right-hand corner of the home or jobs page.

  3. A draw will appear with upload and download information for your device:

    1. Queued: Data ready to be uploaded to the office or new project info waiting to download.

    2. Syncing: Track the progress of items being sent or received.

    3. Completed: Displays a timestamp of your last successful sync.

  4. If you have queued data, tap the Sync button on the right-hand side of the drawer to begin.

  5. During syncing do not close, uninstall, log out or delete the app to prevent data loss.

  6. If data is lost during the sync, data flow will stop and an error message will appear.

  7. Reconnect to a strong wifi or mobile data, click Retry to restart the sync.

How long does it take to sync?

The time required depends on your user role and volume of work:

  • Single project: A few seconds—up to 1 minute on slower connections.

  • Multiple projects: Up to 3 minutes.

  • Admins: Because admins are linked to many projects, this can take 30+ minutes.
